Oral Appliance Therapy

Most patients diagnosed with sleep apnea are treated with CPAP. Many patients either stop using their CPAP or cannot tolerate CPAP, and unfortunately, are left untreated. An oral appliance to treat sleep apnea positions the lower jaw in a forward position, which stabilizes the jaw and helps maintain an open airway. Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) can greatly improve your overall health and well-being.

The only way to properly diagnose sleep apnea is with a sleep study performed under the guidance of a physician. Following the protocols of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, we work in concert with your medical team to ensure you get the best long-term care possible to treat your sleep apnea. We will help coordinate your care and if needed, refer you to a sleep physician.

From dental appliances that promote better airflow, to guidance on long-term solutions for obstructive sleep apnea and orofacial pain, Dr. Cobb offers a range of solutions ensuring function and harmony in your bite and airway.
